About Mabel AI

Language barriers in healthcare present a major obstacle to public health goals, and are associated with high societal costs. In 2023, healthcare interpretation costs were 837 million SEK. Still, this figure is dwarfed by indirect and human costs – staff time and workload, missed or unnecessary visits, and above all life-changing complications or the loss of life. Gothenburg-based Mabel is the first AI-based app for real-time, voice-to-voice translation in medical settings. Crucially, all AI operations can be performed locally, even on-device. This makes Mabel uniquely compatible with patient confidentiality, while enabling off-line use anywhere, from flights to bomb shelters. Voice-to-voice translation allows both parts to communicate by speaking and listening in their own language. Together, these features make Mabel accessible anytime, anywhere and to anyone. Due to built-in verification measures, the correctness of the translation can be directly evaluated, ensuring accuracy and transparency.

What is a competence panel?

The competence panel is a strategic workshop that has two main purposes:

1. To assist the entrepreneur with relevant feedback, tips, advice, and ideas ahead of the upcoming funding round and meetings with investors.
2. To create networking opportunities that can be valuable for the entrepreneur in the further development of their business.

During the competence panel, the entrepreneur will present their company to you and the other participants in an 8-minute pitch. The moderator then leads the discussion to highlight the investment opportunity.
